Jennifer K. Smith joined the International Eye Foundation (IEF) in April 2020 as the Director of Finance on a contractual basis. She is the owner of her own accounting and tax services company, Jennifer K. Smith, CPA, LLC. Ms. Smith is responsible for all financial planning and strategy as well as the day-to-day management of the IEF’s finances and financial reporting. She also serves as the staff liaison to the Board’s Finance and Audit committees as well as partners with the President & CEO and senior leadership team around financial modeling, planning, and policies.

Ms. Smith has a wide variety of experience including both public accounting and private industry, including a heavy emphasis in the nonprofit and construction industries. Prior to joining IEF and starting her own business, she was most recently the Chief Financial Officer at Strathmore Hall Foundation where she oversaw all financial aspects of the foundation including the financing of a $10 Million addition to the Music Center.

Ms. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a certified public accountant in the State of Maryland. She is the treasurer of the Montgomery County Road Runners Club and a former Treasurer of the C&O Canal Trust. When not working with IEF, she loves to run, work-out, cycle, ride motorcycles, and white-water kayak. Ms. Smith lives in Silver Spring, MD with her 2 BIG loveable cats Aruba and Tahiti!
